Welcome to my first blog post. Ever.
I have huge dreams for this place, I want to create a place that people check into when they need a mental pick-me-up in this world that can at times seem dark.
On that note, I wanted to share something that has changed the course of my life in the last few years, and taken me from a shy, not at all body confident girl who was unsure of what the world had to offer, to a woman who no longer "wishes" she was doing something important, but understands how to make things happen in life. The realisation that
Happiness, positivity and inspiration are everywhere in this day and age. Your phone, your computer, and yourself can be tools for your happinessIn order to have positivity and mental energy to call upon, you have to have some in your mental bank. To that end here are a few quick tips to pick you up and change your attitude in 10 minutes or less:
You've heard of fast food, here's a fast mood delivery :p (there will be many bad puns ahead!)
  • Literally Google what you are lacking - feeling "meh" and not achieving your goals? Here.
  • Practice an attitude of gratitude and make a list of everything you have going for you, big or small. From your legs to that gorgeous cup of coffee, your new pyjamas to your best friend, every body has so much to be grateful for.
  • Find a teacher - YouTube is an amazing, endless source of wisdom (when you are not looking at cat videos or the Beebs) Les Brown is my all time favourite speaker and never fails to put a smile on my face and fire in my blood. The short videos are fab but I recommend the longer ones to anyone in a real slump
  • Give - cook a meal for a friend, buy a small gift for a family member, make a donation (I personally love Kiva but whatever is close to your heart is a great).
  • Show yourself some love - a face mask, a lovingly prepared meal, a hot bath, nobody knows what picks you up better than you.
  • Write a to-do list and do something on it - a big remedy for the blues is accomplishment. Is there something you have been meaning to do and never get round to? Get up and go! You can do it! You can do anything with the right attitude and process and there will be much more on this in posts to come :)

I promise you, pick any of these and give it ten minutes and you will feel so much better.

If there is a real issue as opposed to just low energy or low mood, such as bereavement, then talking to someone who loves you is the best move, but otherwise have fun!

I hope this little site will soon be one of the places that will bring you joy, thanks for your reading:)

I have helped hundreds of people lose weight and view their lives totally differently. Having re-trained in behaviour change and client support, I use a gentle approach to help you achieve the goals you couldn't with the broken one-size-fits-all approaches you see everywhere.
